  • Appellate Advocacy and General Litigation
    • David Jenkins currently offers his services in the area of appellate practice and general litigation. In this regard, he has an exceptional history in appellate practice in which he has argued cases in the Illinois Supreme Court and Illinois Appellate Court. David Jenkins has been the primary attorney responsible for appeals in those courts, as well as in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit Court, and for the Ninth Circuit. For a number of years, David Jenkins was mentored by and worked with retired Illinois Appellate Judges (William R. Quinlan and Gino DiVito), as well as other well-respected appellate lawyers.

    David Jenkins is especially adept at research and brief writing – skills he started honing while at John Marshall Law School, where he served as the Executive Lead Articles Editor for the Law Review. Thereafter, he served two years in a prestigious position as a judicial law clerk for a federal district court judge in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. As an attorney, David Jenkins has been hired to assist other lawyers with the preparation of appellate briefs, whether as a ghost-writer, reviewer/editor, or as amicus curiae.

    David Jenkins is a skilled advocate and talented attorney who is capable of expertly handling highly complex legal issues. He has a proven record of developing and implementing winning litigation strategies and the ability to master highly complex, industry specific concepts and information. For example, David Jenkins has handled cases that required in-depth understanding of various matters such as medical device product liability, comprehensive federal regulations governing Medicare Part D plan sponsors and pharmacies, intermodal equipment interchange agreements in the shipping industry, and motor vehicle dealer distribution systems, among many others.

    Throughout his career, David Jenkins has also been involved in a number of cases involving injunctive relief and other special remedies, including specific performance, temporary restraining orders, and preliminary injunctions. David Jenkins has been lead or primary counsel on hundreds of litigation files, including small claims and high exposure cases with multi-million dollar values.

  • Insurance Coverage Litigation and Analysis
    • David Jenkins has experience with insurance coverage matters, including insurance coverage litigation. His insurance law experience includes Comprehensive General Liability policies, Directors and Officers Liability Insurance, Professional Errors and Omissions Insurance, Inland Marine policies, and other types of policies. David Jenkins’ insurance practice has included representation of individuals and businesses with claims against their insurance companies seeking benefits or seeking a defense and indemnification against third-party claims asserted against his clients.  David Jenkins also has prepared coverage opinion letters for insurance companies, analyzing and advising them relative to their rights and responsibilities under various different types of insurance policies.

Jenkins also serves as a copyright and trademark lawyer by representing clients who need legal assistance with transactional matters in copyright registrations, trademark registrations, business entity formation, contract review, and entertainment law. He has prepared and enforced confidentiality agreements, non-solicitation agreements and non-compete agreements in many industries.
